Since his ousting from the Prime Minister’s office Imran Khan has been chanting the slogans of US regime change conspiracy and involvement of a foreign power in his ouster. He called US a monopolist who wants puppet governments in different countries for serving their national interest. Giving an Islamic touch to his anti-US narratives he urged his follower to revolt against the US-backed government in Pakistan and being Muslims believe in the only superiority of the Almighty. On the other hand, he hired the former CIA veteran Robert Grenier with the purpose to foyer and improve PTI’s ties with the US which had gone strained after his plethora of baseless allegations just to mint political mileage.

The ex CIA veteran is currently heading an American consulting agency Grenier Consulting LLC and is the CIA’s ex-station chief in Islamabad. Iftikhar Rehman Durrani the former assistant to IK on media in July 2021 under the supervision of Imran Khan hired the firm of Robert Grenier to help PTI establish a lobby with US administration. Strangely enough on one hand, Imran Khan is blaming US for plotting a regime change conspiracy against him, and on the other, he is seeking help from US to get USAID support in KPK and trying to establish a liaison with Washington desperately. In a recent statement, IK said “I am not against any country, I am not anti-American. I want the two countries to have a friendship…which means having mutual respect.” Such statements and tactical moves further strengthen IK’s image of being U-turn Khan. Moreover, it proves that he is solely working for an agenda that makes his politics strong letting go of the national interests and political stability.

Imran Khan has been trying hard to portray himself as an Islamic leader, who is working for Islam’s superiority in the world. But, he totally forgot his Islamic perspectives when he condemned the attack on Salman Rushdie who is notorious in the Muslim world due to his Blasphemous acts he has heinously committed. While doing so, the words he used may be legally correct but the sentimental tone he had in his words showed he had some personal affiliation with Salman or he was doing so to please someone sitting abroad. Where were his Islamic beliefs when he disowned his own daughter after losing the Sita White case? Where were these Islamic beliefs when he justified the immoral acts of men and blamed women for prevailing obscenity in society? Why he had to “influence” a divorce which is one of the most unpleasant acts in Islam to only to marry Mrs. Bushra Bibi? All these acts show that IK built a populistic clout based on delusional narratives regarding his personality & by lying to his followers. The tactic eventually paid off momentarily but it would not sustain for long as people would surely ask questions, specially on the recent attempts of PTI leadership to revive good relations with the US.

The politics of Imran Khan is based on strategically maneuvered gambles that disregard national progress and only focus on personal gains. He is highly skilled in influencing people and convincing them to believe he is the best human alive. But people forget the basic facts about him and never ask these questions, that, if he is the best human alive, why he couldn’t prove himself to be a good father? A good husband? & a good brother? Islam is all about morals and good character that seems to lack in the personality of IK but he skillfully covered it with his wit and lies. It’s about time that his cult followers ask him the hard questions as a true leader owes this to his followers who blinded by IK’s love have forgotten and forgiven any and everything wrong that he and his party which poorly ruled the country for almost full 4 years.
